New executive board after year of record growth

Membership grew by nearly 30% in 2021 with most events ever

The Young Professionals of Central Indiana today announced eight new board members and a new leadership team who will continue to see through the organization's success following a record year in 2021. In total, the organization grew by nearly 30% to more than 500 members and hosted more than 30 events with plans for continued expansion in 2022.

“When I joined YPCI four year ago, I saw the immense value and opportunity the organization provided its members,” said the organization’s newly appointed president Michael Cioroianu. “Today, we have the opportunity to raise the bar even higher to build a more sustainable future for the organization and provide future leaders with more valuable opportunities within the Central Indiana community."

The YPCI leadership team includes:

  • President, Michael Cioroianu: Assistant director of executive affairs at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)

  • Vice president, Luke Zhang: Senior data scientist at Resultant

  • Secretary, Allison Nordenbrock: Project marketer at Innovatemap

  • Treasurer, Drew Feutz: CFP™ at Market Street Wealth Management Advisors

This year’s board is also the organization's most diverse to date as YPCI continues its focus on diversity. In 2022, YPCI is focused on diversity within its leadership team, membership and the experiences and content in all sponsored events.

As the organization continues to grow, so does its emphasis on giving back to the community. The organization's core fundraising events each year include a fundraising gala in the fall and a golf outing each summer. In 2021 YPCI raised more than $12,000 for local charities including The U.S. Paralympic Team and Indy Independant Relief Fund. YPCI also supported Gleaners Food Bank and the Salvation Army with events throughout the year.

To better connect its members with young professionals in the area, YPCI hosts two networking events per month: a Coffee at the Top coffee hour at the Skyline Club and a rotating happy hour. YPCI also hosts a quarterly Higher Perspectives speaker series that helps its members explore topics ranging from health to technology to sports, with a core focus on how young professionals can influence the sectors’ growth in Indianapolis.
