Meet YPCI’s Hardworking Board Members

Executive

Adrienne Johnson

Adrienne is serving her second year on the YPCI Board on the networking committee. As a local real estate agent, Adrienne is looking forward to further serving her community by helping YPCI grow and to continue bringing value to our members.

Adrienne is a native Hoosier and grew up in the suburbs of Indianapolis. She is passionate about the continuous development of the city and is one of its biggest advocates. She’s a self-proclaimed expert on what’s hot and new in town. Adrienne has always been an extrovert and finds making friends one of the most enjoyable aspects of life, finding common ground with every person she meets. In her spare time, she loves trying new restaurants, biking the Monon Trail, entertaining friends, and supporting local sports teams.

Julia Cavallaro

Julia is a second year board member and super excited to continue her involvement with YPCI. She currently works at Marriott IndyPlace as a Market Sales Manager with her key accounts including collegiate sports and entertainment clients. Julia is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Hospitality and International Business. Julia moved to Indianapolis from New Jersey a little over a year ago. In her free time, she loves watching sports especially the New York Yankees and attending games, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Brock Patterson

Brock Patterson serves as Legislative Counsel for the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council. In his role, Brock advocates on behalf of Indiana’s prosecutors to the Indiana General Assembly on criminal law issues. Brock graduated from Indiana University in 2017 with a B.A. in Political Science, and from IU McKinney School of Law in 2021. While at IU, he founded his fraternity chapter serving as their first Vice President, and also served as president of the Political Science Club.

Following graduation, Brock worked as a Legislative Assistant for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. He is a licensed attorney in Indiana and is a member of both the Indiana and Indy Bar Associations. Brock serves on the legislative committee for the Indy bar Association. He also serves as a founding member and president of his fraternity’s alumni association. 

Brock lives on the south side of Indianapolis with his wife, Rosie and their two dogs. They are both active in their local political clubs and their neighborhood HOA. In his spare time, Brock enjoys spending time with friends, fantasy football, exercise, and home projects.

Sam Huff

Sam is a first-year board member and serves as the legal committee chair. He is an attorney at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP and focuses his practice on all aspects of business law. Prior to joining Taft, Sam received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from DePauw University in 2020, where he played on the varsity baseball team, and graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University McKinney School of Law in 2023. In his free time, Sam enjoys traveling, playing basketball and baseball, attending sporting events downtown, and hanging out with friends.

Zoe Buhl

Zoe is a second-year board member serving as secretary. She is a senior account manager at Dittoe Public Relations where she shares stories about her clients with journalists nationwide. Her public relations experience spans industries including tourism, hospitality, tech, nonprofit, consumer packaged goods and more. A self-proclaimed foodie and wannabe chef, she spends her free time trying new recipes and restaurants. Zoe graduated from Indiana University with a degree in journalism.

David Goldberg

David is an Actuarial Associate at OneAmerica in a Corporate Modeling role. There he helps to develop and maintain the models associated with various enterprise financials. David is a 2020 graduate of IUPUI studying Finance and Economics. David also serves as a Committeemember of the CFA Society of Indianapolis where he co-organizes the annual CFA Research Challenge where students provide a stock recommendation on an Indiana-based subject company. Along with YPCI and the CFA Society, David is also heavily involved with the Young Jewish Professionals of Indianapolis. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, running, going to concerts, and exploring Indiana.

Lisa Cantú

Lisa is a first-year board member serving as one of the treasurers. Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, Lisa found her way to Indianapolis following her cycling passion straight into Marian University’s cycling team. Recently graduated with a B.S. in Finance and Business Analytics, Lisa works at Goelzer Investment Management as a Portfolio Specialist, managing and investing client portfolios. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active so you’ll find her riding her bike or working out at the gym. She also loves to travel and trying new restaurants, coffee shops, and bars.


Marketing

Kenzie AnderS

Kenzie works in Employee Benefits as a Marketing Analyst at Gibson. She is 2022 graduate of the Indiana State University Honors College where she majored in Finance with a concentration in Financial Planning and minor(s) in Financial Services and Insurance & Risk Management. After graduation, Kenzie started in South Bend where Gibson is headquartered then moved to Indianapolis September of 2022, fulfilling her hopes of residing in North Indy. When Kenzie isn’t working you can catch her outside and under the sun – at the lake, by the pool, on the beach, or somewhere near the water. Her favorite thing about moving to Indy has been getting to experience new bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and “things to do” weekly! She also loves anything sports related so if you need a sidekick to a sporting event or an intramural sport sub – Kenzie is your person!

Bryce bettag

Bryce Bettag is the newly-elected marketing chair for YPCI. He’s the owner and founder of BB Focus Visuals, a versatile videography business focused on creativity and fun. Bryce graduated from Indiana State University in 2018 with a B.S. in Marketing, Sales Management. At ISU he was in a few different organizations, including the Sigma Chi fraternity, where he lead an effort to raise over $25k for cancer research and was awarded a trip out to Salt Lake City, UT to meet Jon Huntsman, Sr. (the founder of the Huntsman Cancer Institute) and various Sigma Chi members from across the state leading similar efforts at their schools. Mr. Bettag enjoys partaking in an array of physical activities throughout the year, including snowboarding, running, lifting weights, and sand volleyball. Weird fact: he collects nutcrackers. Go Colts.

Katelyn munoz

Katelyn Munoz, fondly referred to as Katie, is a dynamic professional deeply rooted in the west side of Indianapolis. A proud alumna of Ben Davis University, Katie channels her commitment to community service as a first-year board member at YPCI. Currently, she brings her expertise to the forefront as a trade program instructor at IndyPendence Job Corps, contributing significantly to skills development and shaping the future workforce. Beyond her professional achievements, Katie places a high value on interpersonal connections. She enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, recognizing the importance of fostering meaningful relationships within her community. Her multifaceted commitment to education, community service, and personal connections underscores her belief in the transformative power of collaboration and positive engagement.

Lilly Waltman

Lilly is a second-year board member serving as marketing co-chair. She is an Account Manager at Avant Healthcare, where she leverages her marketing and consulting skills to plan and execute promotional presentations at medical conferences across the country. She also partners successfully with the Project Management and Cross-Functional Teams to deliver high-quality content, advisory boards, live and virtual speaker programs, and other promotional medical education (PME) services.

Prior to joining Avant Healthcare, Lilly earned her combined bachelor’s degree in Global Health and Spanish with a Business Administration minor from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. In her free time, Lilly enjoys being active—whether that’s going to the gym or walking her yellow lab, Taggart—as well as dog sitting and raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease by serving on the volunteer committee for the Alzheimer’s Association’s The Longest Day fundraiser.


Membership

angela cardwell

Angela Cardwell, serving as the Director of Operations at Pack Away Hunger, brings her expertise in Supply Chain Management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University to drive impactful change in the realm of local hunger relief. With a deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of communities, she commits her energies to both Pack Away Hunger and the Indianapolis young professional community. Within YPCI, Angela oversees the Membership Committee with a focus on shaping an enriching experience for all members. Her goal is to foster a vibrant and inclusive community, ensuring that young professionals feel welcomed, engaged, and empowered to contribute meaningfully. When not working or at YPCI events, she can be found on the dance floor or at home with a good book.

Katie Nelson

Katie is excited for her first year on the YPCI board serving on the membership committee. Originally from Wisconsin, Katie moved to Indianapolis from Cincinnati this past summer and is enjoying exploring the Indy area. She currently works as a Career Development Consultant in the Career Services office at Butler University. In her role, Katie provides career coaching to Butler students and alumni, as well as creates connections with employers looking to recruit Butler talent. Katie most recently graduated from the University of Kansas with a masters in Higher Education Administration and has worked in Career Services ever since, helping college students to develop career readiness skills. A self-proclaimed “hidden gem” enthusiast, Katie enjoys finding new spots to explore, whether it’s a state park or local restaurant.  


Networking

shelby ferrell

Dr. Shelby Ferrell is a first-year board member serving on the networking committee. She is originally from Lexington, Kentucky, and received her Bachelor of Public Health in Public Health and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky. She completed her pharmacy practice residency and teaching certificate at Indiana University Health Academic Health Center. Dr. Ferrell is licensed to practice pharmacy in multiple states and is currently employed as a pharmacist with AllMed HealthCare Management. Outside of pharmacy, Dr. Ferrell is an active Junior League of Indianapolis member and serves on their marketing committee. She looks forward to serving on the YPCI Board and connecting with other young professionals in Central Indiana, especially those new to the area. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, shopping, listening to music, and spending time with her toy poodle, Ginger.

Jak Kramer

Jak Kramer is a Risk Advisor for Gibson where he specializes in property & casualty insurance. After graduating from THE Indiana State University in 2019 with a degree in Insurance and Risk Management, Jak moved to South Bend, IN for a year before returning home to Indianapolis. When Jak isn’t talking about insurance, you will find him promoting downtown Indy life, visiting the best local coffee shops, and finding any excuse to pack his bag for a weekend trip.

Mia SCHulte

Mia is a licensed Real Estate Agent with Lockstep Realty, and serves clients all around the Greater Indianapolis Area. She specializes in helping first-time home buyers navigate the home-buying process and find the home they have been dreaming of. Mia is a 2016 graduate of Butler University and previously worked for the YMCA as a Director and Cooking Instructor. When not working, Mia enjoys cooking, traveling, trying new restaurants around Indy, and spending time at home with her cat!


Philanthropy

cassity martin

In her first year on the board, Cassity Martin brings her enthusiasm for outdoor activities and commitment to giving back, reflecting her adventurous spirit and strong sense of community. As a web developer for her company, she brings a creative and innovative approach to her work, constantly striving for excellence. Cassity's dedication to her work and her community make her a valuable asset to any team.


Special Events

ellie margulis

Ellie is a first-year board member serving on the special events committee. She is the Content Marketing Strategist at Your Money Line, where she drives content strategy. Beyond her role with Your Money Line, she is also a B2B freelance writer. Ellie graduated from DePauw University in 2022 with majors in English and Communication, where she also competed in NCAA DIII Cross Country and Track.
She is passionate about impacting her community, is a people person, and has loved making Indianapolis her new home, moving from St. Louis, MO, after college. Outside of work, Ellie is a dedicated court-appointed special advocate (CASA) volunteer and enjoys competing in triathlons, running with Indy Runners, doing any outdoor activity, and reading books.

Jake Rupp

Jake Rupp is a first-year member of the board, bringing his expertise to the Special Events team. By day, he excels in the world of commercial real estate development, showcasing his keen eye for lucrative opportunities. However, Jake's passion for creativity and beauty extends beyond the boardroom; he also owns a charming flower shop, where he curates stunning arrangements that brighten up his community's days. Jake's unique blend of business acumen and artistic flair make him a valuable addition to the board, where he is sure to infuse every event with his signature style.

Dave work

Dave is a first year board member excited to create opportunities for learning, development, and community for young professionals in the area. He is a Senior Manager at Resultant, a technology consulting firm, where he acts as a consultant, problem solver, and project leader for their Health and Human Services practice. Dave received three degrees from the University of Evansville, focusing on Health Services Administration (Bachelors and Masters), and Finance (Bachelors). He was born and raised in Indiana, but moved to Central Indiana about 10 years ago and has loved it since. Dave also loves rock climbing, sailing, and all things adventure. He and his wife live in the Trader’s Point area with their two huskies, Miley and Rune.


Sponsorship

Caitlin Earl

Caitlin is a first-year board member serving on the sponsorship committee and is a Campaign Development Manager with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In her role she coaches fundraising best practices for candidates participating in the Visionaries of the Year campaign. Caitlin graduated from Indiana University-Indianapolis in 2016 and began her career in the non-profit sector as a fundraising engagement manager with United Way of Central Indiana. Caitlin lives on the west side of Indianapolis with her dog, Juno. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, live music, and new experiences.

Tim Stephenson

Tim is a first-year board member serving on the sponsorship committee and is Assistant Director of Individual Giving at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Tim is a concert artist, educator, and arts administrator and has received degrees from Indiana University and Florida State University. He is active in the arts scene in Indianapolis and serves as the manager of the ISO’s FORTE Young Professionals group.


Tech

Matthew Fajt

Matt is a Revenue Operations Analyst at Employ Inc, where he analyzes Go-To-Market data and assists in the strategic vision of the company. A Hoosier native, he graduated from Wabash College with a B.A in Economics and was accepted into the Orr Fellowship following graduation. As an Orr Fellow, Matt served as Director of Finance, where he managed the Fellowship’s Budgeting, Accounts Payable, and long term growth initiatives. He also gained diverse experience through a rotational program with his host company Jobvite, contributing to various departments including Account Management Operations, Customer Success, Project Management, and Sales Ops. Outside professional pursuits, Matt enjoys running on the Monon Trail, playing golf, and cheering on the Colts and Pacers.

craig pund

Craig Pund is a dedicated Network Engineer working for IU Health, playing a crucial role in ensuring that critical systems can access the internet to support the healthcare system. Outside of work, Craig is an avid adventurer who loves going on backpacking and camping trips. Last year he went on camping trips to Pictured Rocks, upstate New York, and some local spots in Indiana. When he's not out in nature, Craig enjoys exploring downtown areas on foot, discovering new bars, coffee shops, and restaurants. At home, he likes to unwind by cooking new recipes for friends and spending time with his cat, Ari.
